Online dreaming sessions
You are invited to a series of online Social Dreaming sessions taking place on Zoom from 12.00 – 13.15 (GMT/BST) every Thursday from 18 March – 24 June 2021 including a post-matrix review.
Participants share their overnight dreams and associate freely to the dreams offered in the matrix in order to find links, make connections and reveal new meaning and understanding of the social context and of the current socio-political environment – in particular, the Covid-19 pandemic – a year on.
To participate, register here for the next available sessions.
Reflections and findings from the sessions will be shared (anonymously) via the Institute’s Archive project blog and the SDiN website. We invite participants to join this conversation and share their thoughts – reflecting on their experiences and responses to the SDM. The blog draws comparisons between archives as memory; and dreams as the surfacing of unprocessed thought or raw archival material, thereby creating possibilities for the new.
The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations and the Social Dreaming International Network have curated Social Dreaming Matrices to address pivotal social events for decades.
From the SDMs at the time of 9/11/2001 and terrorism to the SDM in Finsbury Square, London during the Occupy movement through to the Reading Room series with the Wellcome Trust during the 70th anniversary of the TIHR – making social meaning of key events in recent history (Brexit vote, Trump election) and most recently last year’s successful online series ‘social dreaming in times of covid-19′ and ‘dreams of the global pandemia and visions of the future’.
Starting on Thursday, 18 March, we will be offering the space to share dreams once a week between 12.00-13.15 GMT and then BST, a time which we hope makes the session accessible for all of you dreamers around the world, whether it would be early morning or late evening for you.
